What time do successful people wake up? On average, they wake up at 5 a.m.. What do they do?
You’d probably be tired. So tired, in fact, that you would probably go to bed early (I thought I’d start with the end in mind.)
Before you went to bed early, you’d have to make sure you got everything done earlier in the evening. In order to get everything done earlier in the evening, you’d have to plan differently than you do now.
So, what would you plan on doing differently? You’d probably have to sharpen up on how to plan differently. Maybe read a book. Maybe write something, write down the 6 most important things you have to get done tomorrow, the night before.
What would you do if you woke up at 5 a.m.? You wouldn’t be doing the most important thing to do during business hours — creating and keeping customers. Most likely, you’d be preparing yourself for creating and keeping customers.
Maybe you would be maintaining good health by exercising, even stretching is a stretch for most of us.
Or, maybe just relaxing, while awake. Reflecting, future pacing. The calm before the storm.
The point is, if you got up earlier, you’d find something to do that’s different from what you normally do, and it will be something important, because who is going to wake up at 5 a.m. for nothing!
The early bird gets the worm. –English proverb
Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise. –John Clarke in a 1639 book of English and Latin proverbs
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle: when the sun comes up, you’d better be running. –http://quoteinvestigator.com/2011/08/05/lion-gazelle/
